Recently I released my simple Hex tiling function on Patreon for free as part of a give back to the community initiative I have been working on.
Building off the hex tile functionality I have a new Hex tile material function set for you to use in your project.
Links to free stuff and project files at the bottom of the post.
Its a short video and covers a lot but was fun to finally make video content again and share something of my own.
Before Hex Tile:
I also had fun doing tech art to make tools to explain techart :)
The normal direction per cell and arrows indicator is a grid of instanced static meshes using the same info as the hex pattern.
All in all a pretty small drop but a lot learned and a lot of edge cases fixed. I'll roll these in to my other tiling offset setups too.
Building this all out of reusable functions made that much easier.
